Decorating for Christmas
Jonathan and I have enjoyed so much decorating for our first Christmas together as a family. Over the past couple of weeks, we put up our tree and got a couple of other things for our home. It is such a tender time knowing that we are creating memories to look back on for the rest of our lives.

The Foliage Tour
Last Saturday Jonathan, Levi, and I went to Talullah Gorge in northeast Georgia to see the beautiful fall colors. We first stopped at an overlook where there was a cute country store and looked down into the gorge. Then we entered the state park and enjoyed the walking trials. Levi is doing much better on the leash, but we need to do much better giving him practice. Jonathan took a lot of very great pictures. Hope you enjoy!

My Biggest Fan
I am in the computer lab in between class and thought I would take the opportunity to blog. Today was our last pharmacology lecture and I am so relieved. This semester has been so much smoother than I expected. Finals start on Friday and after that a couple of weeks of clinical application.
And for this I have my husband to thank. A lot of people said that I shouldn't get married before I was done with school, but it has been the best thing. With someone who is always on your side, the burden of stress and responsibility is shared. He is there to take care of me and lift me up when I'm feeling down. Jonathan, I cannot wait to be old and in love with you!

Updated intentions

I know that we have not updated in a while, and for all of you out there who check ( which is a small handful ) we apologize.
As the blog below reveals, Levi is now a strong part of our life, and is now considered part of our family. He is a great companion and a good snuggle buddie, ( especially when adrian is M.I.A ). Until this past week we have been disconnected at home from the online world due to the lack of internet from our other apartment dwellers> but we finally got our own connection and are now feeling alive again.
I also want to say happy birthday maw-maw who is a remarkable 80 last week! She is still so vibrant and it encourages me to see how full of life she is. And being in North Carolina also makes me miss all of the family too!
Well, check back soon for more updates as we now are plugged-in!

Married with a puppy on the way!
This past weekend as we were soaking up the joys of not being at work I was struck by how far we have come in a year. This time last year I(Adrian) was a nervous as could be about pharmacy school. Since then we have gotten engaged and married and now have a puppy on the way! Our little family is gaining a member this Saturday. This is Levi. He is an Italian Greyhound. Isn't he cute?
We are traveling to Greensboro this friday to pick him up and spend time with the family. Stay tuned for more pictures of him with his new family!

2 More Days of School
Today was reading day at the University of Georgia. That means no school. Today I met with two florists with my awesome mom and then got mattie off the bus ( which I almost missed). We are sitting here enjoying a coke float. Mattie is my flower girl in the wedding. She is going to be great. Here is a picture of her last year after her ballet recital...

Doesn't she look like a great flower girl? The wedding is going to be here before I know it. It's hard to believe. 24 days of unmarried life! Today Karla worked on the invitations for my bachelorette party. It is going to be so fun getting sassy lingerie and eating great food with my friends. I think we found an awesome restaurant downtown. Whoo, hoo!!!! :)

We're Getting Married
THE WEDDING IS 33 DAYS AWAY!!!!
Here's the way I see it. I'm not one of the those girls who had has her whole wedding picked out since she was small or has dreamed about every detail. I am the girl who dreams about all the days after. I am the girl who knew before we were even officially dating that that this is the boy, who turned into a man, that I am supposed to marry. So many things in life are unsure. But when you meet the one person that makes your heart beat to a different rhythm, makes your breath flow in and out a little easier, and gives you a reason to smile just by walking in the room, you know not to let them go. They are your sure thing.
The ebb and flow of life refines and molds us and our love grows as we do. And one day, I hear the four words that were 7 years in the making. In that moment the picture of my life becomes clear. This man that I adore has just asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was truly a mountaintop experience. And then your lives become intimately intwined. Planning intensely to begin your life together.
As each day passes and more and more planning moves behind us the picture of our life starts to focus. There is such a beauty found in two lives joining into one. The oneness that will begin on May 27th will change us forever. Words cannot describe the feeling of joyful anticipation to become Mrs. Jonathan Patrick Sykes.

Easter
I always seem to think about Easter more after the day passes. There is such an anticipation of what the church service will be like and all the fuss about food that sometimes there isn't enough time on Easter to think. So my thinking comes a day late.
Grace was examplified on Easter. Like our pastor said, God said, "Dad's coming!!" And He always follows though. God came through for us even though we have stabbed him in the back and pushed Him aside and knew that we would do it again and again. God gave us something we don't deserve and all I can say is that I'm glad He's my Dad. I just stand in awe knowing that no matter what I can do I will always be indebted to Him. But He sacrificed himself because He loves me!
Easter is like opening a favorite present every year. It gives us a time to remember how lost we would be without His sacrifice. So many people say that God doesn't care about them or know what they need, but He does. He knows like a dad, way before His children. And it feels so good just to be His child. I can relax in the Lord because I trust Him.
Easter.

Here's a Wedding Update...
now that we have taken our engagement pictures, we have to pick out what we want in our guest book. I am still working on finding a florist now that school has subsided. All the guys need to be measured for tuxs before April 27th. AND I have to send out invitations!!! That is number 1 on the list right now. And I should working on them instead of doing this. So, goodnight.
Welcome to the World of Blogging!!
To Whomever It may concern:
Jonathan and I (via me) now have a blogger site. I was inspired by my photographer, Virginia Hall, who used it to keep us up to date with our engagement pictures. I love her! Who ever thought that taking pictures could make a girl so happy.
I hope to make this page where family and friends can stay up to date about our lives.
